T1 defeated G2 in an epic final at the UOB Arena in Bangkok, clinching the championship title. The Korean superteam won the best-of-five series 3-2, becoming the champion of the first major international event of the season.

Both teams had their share of setbacks, each losing a match in the Swiss stage. After its loss to EDG, G2 won every subsequent match without dropping a single map to reach the finals. On the other hand, T1 lost its opening playoff match against EDG but fought through the lower bracket to secure a spot in the finals.

T1's Meteor was crowned the MVP of the tournament and was awarded with the MVP bracelet. Along with that he achieved an exciting milestone as the first ever player to win back-to-back Masters titles. "I am very glad to lift this trophy with my team," Meteor said during the post-match interview.

In the third map, Abyss, T1 led until the mid-game interval with a score of 8-4. However, G2 mounted a comeback and secured a 13-11 victory on their map pick with a reverse sweep.

"T1 is the best team in the world," Buzz said during the post-match interview after their victory. On top of that T1's Buzz made history by breaking the record for the most kills by a player across global events, reaching a total of 2,115 kills.

The decider was played on Pearl, where T1 started strong with an 8-4 lead at halftime. However, G2 bounced back with their defense-heavy composition. The match stood at 12-10 in favor of G2 when T1 won back-to-back rounds to push the American team into overtime. In the OT finale, T1 secured the map with a 16-14 scoreline.
